The eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is a standard format for representing information. XML is often used in place of HTML for Web and print publishing, but is increasing being used for data exchange.

In this tutorial you will learn the principles of structuring information, XML syntax for representing document structure and content and how to describe the structure of XML documents in a DTD or XML Schema, along with design issues and techniques.

The tutorial also introduces important standards related to XML; XML Namespaces, hyperlinking with XLink and styling with XSL.
